We live on fascination - Alphabeat!

I feel like I’ve been out of the music/blogging scene for a while. After the flu controlling my life last week, I’m back and ready to go with some FANTASTIC new music for you. My friend, Donnie, recommended this group, and let me just say - it is exactly the refreshing, new, and unique that I need right now.

Introducing Alphabeat!

Be remarkable

Do you ever just feel like something is "off"? I hate that feeling. Hate, hate, hate it. Lately that "off" feeling has been lingering and quite frankly I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because there is a LOT going on, or maybe I'm just having some weird paranoia lately, or maybe I just need some more PMA...I really don't know.

So let me run until I don't look back

So, my love of the week is Peter Bradley Adams. I'm not sure where I found him either; he was on my list too. Adams actually used to be apart of a duo, Eastmountainsouth, which I am slightly obsessed with too at the moment.

You had me at hello, Dove

Last week, I told you guys about my Dove tragedy and as I do every time I post a new blog entry, I posted it on Facebook and Twitter. But this time, Dove replied to my Tweet and asked if I would follow them so they could send me a direct message..I was a tiny bit skeptical but did it anyway. They have a right to be heard just like I do.

Fear of sneezing? Yep. That's me.

I used to not be able to sneeze in front of people. I know. It’s weird and quite possibly concerning but the only time I could sneeze in front of someone was if I felt “comfortable” around them. (Hey, I never said I was normal – but I am unique. :) ) Everyone knows that feeling you get when you have to sneeze or you’re justtttt about to sneeze, then all of a sudden you can’t. I literally used to have that all the time. I would get this anxiety about sneezing in front of others and then I just couldn’t do it.

Finally, I will tell you my Dove story.

Some of you may or may not remember me complaining (and FREAKING OUT) about Dove. Well, I'm here to finally tell my story.

(dramatic pause)

Imagine this: You find this magnificent product that does wonders for your life. You walk taller, you are happier, and you just feel amazing. You use this product day in and day out...year after year. Then one day, you go to the store to replenish your dwindling quantity and the shelves are empty. No big deal, just check at another place - I mean stores are known to run out of things, right? But after going to 3, 4, 5, even 6 stores (some not even in the same state!) and seeing empty shelf after empty shelf, you realize quickly that something is terribly wrong.

In 5 years time, we could be walking around a zoo

So, I have this "note" on my phone, simply titled "music." It is basically just an ongoing list of artists/bands I want to check out, buy, research, etc... I have a horrible memory - I think I can thank my Dad for that. To this day, he writes notes, lists, or reminders on Index cards and shoves them in his pocket. I like to think my music "note" on my phone is really an Index card shoved in my purse.

I'm a pro at zipping!

So, last week, I asked you to do me a favor and go explore, and do something adventurous or new – so I’m here to report back with my adventures from last week! Over the weekend, I went ZIPLINING! Or… as the pro’s say, “zipping.” And I’m definitely a pro now soooooooooooo let’s start again.

Take time to explore...

For those of you who don't know, I work primarily with educators. Yay! I interact, share, and learn so much from them everyday. One of the *coolest* parts of my job is that I get to play. Yep! I get to play with tons of cutting edge and really awesome resources that teachers use in the classroom.

My new favorite one is Prezi. It's a modern spin on PowerPoint. And quite frankly, in my opinion, it's pretty freakin' cool. So, today, I'm giving you my blog post through Prezi! :)

You got what you wanted

I think the last time I heard that saying was in a snarky "na-ne-na-ne-boo-boo" voice from one of my siblings. But last night I was chatting with my roomie/best friend/honorary sister/most amazing person ever -- telling her all my crazy stories of the day, when I realized...

I'm getting what I want.

Um...scary.
