The Universe is Working Diligently for You

Well, if you didn’t know by now, I got a new job. *HOORAY!* I’ve managed to work my way up to finding a full-time can of awesomeness where I get to do what I am most passionate about. All. Day. Long. It’s kind of weird to tell you the truth. I’m so used to doing a million and one different jobs everyday that when I’m left alone to create my masterpieces (modest much?) I’m left wondering why nobody is bothering me. Ha.

Drupal, Drupal, Drupal! My thoughts on DrupalCon San Francisco!

The sole purpose of my trip to San Francisco was the geeky (and awesome) DrupalCon! Drupal is an open source platform that allows you to build, manage, and organize content on a website. I started using Drupal a little over a year ago when my boss told me to “build a website.” As my baby blues widened and out spilled “WHAT?” then “I don’t know how,” he quickly came back with “Google it.” After I had a mini heart attack, I took on the challenge, as I would with most things, and I started to learn about Drupal.

Considering my major in college was Marketing, most of my development work has been trial and error. Over the past year, I have kind of just put on my Drupal wings and soaked up as much knowledge as I possibly can, singing the Drupal song in happy moments and cursing it in dark moments.

The Guided Path vs. The Unguided Path

Well, it is finally that time. I’m leaving for San Francisco this weekend to attend DrupalConSF and can I just say that I AM SO EXCITED! This is the FIRST official “cross-off” on my vision board for 2010 and I’m pretty proud of myself for sticking to my goals and MAKING IT HAPPEN. Not only will I be with my fellow designing and development geeks for a few days, but I’ll be taking some extended time there to enjoy and explore the city with my friends.

You got what you wanted

I think the last time I heard that saying was in a snarky "na-ne-na-ne-boo-boo" voice from one of my siblings. But last night I was chatting with my roomie/best friend/honorary sister/most amazing person ever -- telling her all my crazy stories of the day, when I realized...

I'm getting what I want.

Um...scary.

I've been DYING to tell you about this

As some of you may or may not know, I am apart of a social network that revolves around the love of sports.

It first started off as a basketball group on Twitter, but quickly has turned into something bigger and better. It's turned into a social network and blog for the love of all things sports, healthy competition, and excitement. I've seen (and experienced) how females always get a negative wrap when participating or discussing sports, so our social network and blog were created for females and males who do not judge women who love to watch, talk, and participate in sports.

I can see clearly now!

A week or so ago, I was at the gym with a good friend of mine, catching up, laughing, and burning off some calories when we got to talking about about her vision board.

My initial response: “Um…excuse me? WHAT is a vision board?”

Well, come to find out, a vision board is basically amazing. Descriptive enough for you? (kidding)

Are you waiting or are you living?

Ever heard the saying “when one door closes another one opens”? Who am I kidding? Everyone’s heard that saying. And as much as I instinctively want to say “blah blah blah” after I hear that quote, I can’t help but to smile and nod my head in agreement. Lately I’ve really realized that success doesn’t just come knocking on your door saying “Hello! Your success has arrived!” You have to work harder than you ever thought you possibly could, sacrifice some social mingling (trust me, I know all the offers are hard to pass up), and believe in yourself more than ever imagined.
